The invention relates to the use of glucocorticoid receptor ligands selectively antagonizing the transactivation activity of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) without affecting the transrepression activity. Compounds having this profile can be used as co-medication with conventional glucocorticoids in the treatment of inflammation and immune diseases. An advantage of this combination therapy is that metabolic side-effects of glucocorticoids are antagonized and only the anti-inflammatory or anti-immune activity of the glucocorticoids is maintained. In such a combination therapy, higher doses of the glucocorticoid can be used leading to better therapeutic efficacy.
La présente invention concerne l'utilisation de ligands du récepteur glucocorticoïde servant à antagoniser de manière sélective l'activité de transactivation du récepteur glucocorticoïde (GR) sans avoir d'effet sur l'activité de transrépression. Des composés de ce type peuvent être utilisés comme co-médication avec des glucocorticoïdes conventionnels dans le cadre du traitement des maladies inflammatoires et immunitaires. Cette thérapie combinée présente l'avantage de permettre aux effets secondaires métaboliques des glucocorticoïdes d'être antagonisés pour ne laisser subsister que l'activité anti-inflammatoire ou anti-immunitaire des glucocorticoïdes. Dans le cadre d'une thérapie combinée de ce type, des doses supérieures de glucocorticoïde peuvent être administrées, ce qui donne une meilleure efficacité thérapeutique.
