The adhesive article (10) comprises: a dissolvable facestock (12); a dissolvable adhesive layer (14); and a release coating (16) overlying the upper surface of the dissolvable facestock (12). The linerless dissolvable adhesive article (10) may be provided in a wound configuration or a stacked configuration.
