ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a digital distance relaying system the principle of comparing the amplitude values of alternating current quanti- ties is used. In one example, amplitude values of ? and ? - ?? are compared and in the other example the amplitude values or ? - ?? and ?? are compared for determining the operating point of the relay system. According to this invention the calculating time can be decreased and the distance measuring characteristic can be improved.
