Architecture for a scalable, pluggable multi-party, and distributed multimedia conferencing. A centralized policy and control conferencing component allows the seamless plug-in of different distributed media components (e.g., data, audio/video, messaging) to accommodate client participation in a conference session. The centralized conference control component includes the following: a conference notification service for accepting subscriptions to the conference state and notifying subscribers about changes to that state; a conference policy and roster control service for storing and manipulating conference policy and rosters; a security service for user authorization/authentication based on user identity information; a scheduling service for conference scheduling; an allocation service for allocating the most available media component(s) for a conference session; and, an MCU management service for conference policy and roster management of the distributed media components.
L'invention concerne une architecture pour un système de conférences multimédia échelonnable, à branchement de parties multiples et distribué. Un composant de système de conférence de commande et à politique centralisée permet le branchement en douceur de différents composants de médias répartis (par exemple, données, audio/vidéo, messagerie) pour assurer la participation d'un client à une séance de conférence. Le composant de commande de conférence centralisé comporte les éléments suivants : un service de notification de conférence pour accepter des abonnements à un état de conférence et pour avertir les abonnés des changements de cet état ; un service de politique de conférence et de contrôle d'agenda pour stocker et manipuler la politique et les agendas de conférence ; un service de sécurité pour une autorisation/authentification d'un utilisateur en fonction d'informations sur l'identité de l'utilisateur ; un service de programmation pour la programmation des conférences ; un service d'attribution pour attribuer le ou les composants de médias les plus disponibles pour une séance de conférence ; et un service de gestion MCU pour gérer la politique et l'agenda des conférences des composants médias distribués.
