A distributed computing network is disclosed, the membership of which is determined in accordance with policy data stored at existing member nodes. A node wishing to join the distributed computing network sends profile data indicating the resources it has available for shared computation to a member node. The member node compares the resources with the requirement indicated in the priority data. If the comparison indicates that the applicant node should join, then data indicating the topology of the distributed computing network is updated at the member node and created at the applicant node. This allows for the creation of a distributed computing network whose topology is well- suited to a given task, provided the policy properly reflects the requirements of that task.
L'invention concerne un r~seau informatique r~parti dont les membres sont d~termin~s en fonction de donn~es de politique stock~es dans des noeuds membres existants. Un noeud souhaitant se joindre au r~seau informatique r~parti, envoie ~ un noeud membre des donn~es de profil indiquant les ressources dont il dispose pour un calcul partag~. Ledit noeud membre compare les ressources ~ l'exigence indiqu~e dans les donn~es de priorit~. Si, selon la comparaison, le noeud candidat peut se joindre, alors les donn~es indiquant la topologie du r~seau informatique r~parti sont actualis~es au niveau du noeud membre et cr~~es ~ celui du noeud candidat, ce qui permet de cr~er un r~seau informatique r~parti dont la topologie convient parfaitement ~ une t~che donn~e, pour autant que la politique reflte correctement les exigences de ladite t~che.
