Systems and methods for distributed overlay multi-channel MAC for wireless ad hoc networks are described. In one aspect, the systems and methods divide channel frequencies defined by a wireless network protocol into a single home channel and multiple guest channels that are orthogonal to the home channel. Each of the network nodes in the ad hoc network operates on the home channel for respective variable and overlapping amounts of time to maintain network connectivity with other respective network nodes. Additionally, each of the network nodes determines whether and when to switch from the home channel to a particular guest channel of the guest channels for a variable amount of time to increase data throughput over one or more corresponding communication links in the ad hoc network with other network node(s).
L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés pour un contrôle d'accès au support physique (MAC) multicanal à recouvrement distribué pour des réseaux ad hoc sans fil. Dans un aspect de l'invention, les systèmes et les procédés répartissent les fréquences de canal définies par un protocole de réseau sans fil dans un canal résidentiel et dans multiples canaux d'usager externe qui sont orthogonaux au canal résidentiel. Chaque nAEud de réseau dans le réseau ad hoc fonctionne avec le canal résidentiel pendant des périodes de temps respectives variables et se recouvrant afin de conserver la connectivité du réseau avec d'autres nAEuds respectifs du réseau. En plus, chaque nAEud du réseau détermine la condition et l'instant pour passer du canal résidentiel à un canal d'usager externe particulier parmi les canaux d'usager externe pendant une période de temps variable afin d'augmenter le débit des données sur une ou plusieurs liaisons de communication correspondantes dans le réseau ad hoc avec un ou plusieurs autres nAEuds du réseau.
