A method of linking wireless handsets to a basestation in a wireless telephone system includes connecting a first RF repeater part as an interface to the basestation, surveying a probable handset user traffic pattern over an area to be serviced by the basestation and distributing second RF repeater parts over the area, in accordance with the traffic pattern, with antenna coverage areas of the second RF repeater parts being located in sequence along the length of at least one traffic path in a mutually overlapping manner so as to avoid call hand-off as a handset moves from one to another of the antenna coverage areas along the traffic path. The first RF repeater parts are connected to the second RF repeater parts for transferring telephone signals therebetween and the telephone signals are exchanged between the basestation and the handsets with the frequency of the telephone signals unaltered.
