Transaction management for distributor-based transactions is facilitated. According to an example embodiment of the present invention, a transaction management approach involves the processing of transactions on behalf of clients using rules associated with a distributor (120) sponsoring the clients (130) into the transaction. The processing involves the implementation of rules, profiles and/or other stored data (112) to facilitate various transaction functions (350), such as order acceptance, invoice approval, payment and settlement, and credit extension.
