ABSTRACT A reverse sloped latching mechanism for a distributor base/cap assembly. Resilient arms extend upwardly from the base and are received by camming sockets on the cap, where the end of each arm is forced inward as the cap is compressed onto the base and spring outward to prevent removal of the cap when the cap is sufficiently mated with the base.
