ABSTRACT A diuretic or antihypertensive composition comprising a quinazoline derivative of the general formula: Image wherein R1, R2 and R3 each is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient, in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable, substantially non-toxic carrier or excipient. The method for pre- venting and/or treating edema or hypertension using the above composition is also disclosed.
