Methods and devices provide for temporary partial aortic occlusion to achieve diversion of blood flow to the brain in patients suffering from cerebral ischemia. The device includes an expandable frame and membrane that is inserted into the aorta to partially occlude blood flow.

L'invention concerne des procédés et des dispositifs d'occlusion partielle temporaire de l'aorte permettant de produire une diversion du flux sanguin dans le cerveau chez des patients atteints d'ischémie cérébrale. Le dispositif de l'invention comprend une structure expansible pourvue d'une membrane insérée dans l'aorte, destinée à produire une occlusion partielle du flux sanguin.
