This invention relates to a system for introducing nucleic acid into the DNA of a cell. The system includes the use of a member of the SB family of transposases (SB) or nucleic acid encoding the transposase and a nucleic acid fragment that includes a nucleic acid sequence with flanking inverted repeats. The transposase recognizes at least a portion of an inverted repeats and incorporates the nucleic acid sequence into the DNA. Methods for use of this system are discussed.

Cette invention concerne un système qui permet d'introduire de l'acide nucléique dans l'ADN d'une cellule. Le système implique l'utilisation d'un élément de la famille SB des transposases (SB) ou d'acide nucléique codant la transposase et d'un fragment d'acide nucléique qui inclut une séquence d'acide nucléique à répétitions inversées flanquantes. La transposase reconnaît au moins une partie d'une répétition inversée et introduit la séquence d'acide nucléique dans l'ADN. On présente également des procédés d'utilisation de ce système.
