ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A DNA for integrating DNA into a mycobacterium chromosome which includes a first DNA sequence which is a phage DNA portion encoding bacteriophage integration into a mycobacterium chromosome, and a second DNA sequence encoding a protein or polypeptide heterologous to the mycobacterium in which the DNA is to be integrated. Such DNA may be integrated into mycobacteria, which may then be administered as a vaccine and/or therapeutic agent.
