A medium for embedding single cells or cell tissue for preserving for an extended period of time, in a state suitable for DNA and/or RNA amplification, native DNA and/or RNA at a temperature of 0°C or below consists essentially of an aqueous solution of one or several water- soluble cellulose derivatives and, optionally, an osmotic pressure stabilizing agent. Also disclosed is a method of amplification of DNA and/or RNA thus preserved, and amplified DNA or RNA obtained by the method.

L'invention concerne un agent d'enrobage de cellules isolées ou de tissus cellulaires destiné à conserver, pendant une longue période et dans un état convenant à l'amplification de l'ADN et/ou l'ARN, l'ADN et/ou l'ARN natifs à une température de 0 DEG C maximum. Cet agent est essentiellement composé d'une solution aqueuse d'au moins un dérivé de cellulose soluble dans l'eau et, éventuellement, d'un agent stabilisant la pression osmotique. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'amplification de l'ADN et/ou l'ARN ainsi conservés, et de l'ADN ou l'ARN amplifiés ainsi obtenus.
