X-8000 Abstract The present invention provides 8 chloro-4 (2-chloro-4-fluorophenoxy)quinoline (a fungicide) resistance genes for use as selectable markers in fungi. These resistance genes are mutants of the wild-type Aspergillus nidulans dihydroorotate dehydrogenase gene. The wild-type gene is also provided herein.
