Abstract of the Disclosure The invention is embodied in a dockboard comprising a main plate with a lip plate pivotally mounted on its front edge, the main plate being elevated relative to a dock in which it is mounted by a first hydraulic motor, while the lip plate is elevated relative to the main plate by a second hydraulic motor. The lip plate motor is of double-acting type and as the main plate is elevated the lip plate is urged by its motor force- fully toward the dependent stored position, to ensure that the board can readily be placed in its stored position with the main plate horizontal with the dock. A hydraulic/electric circuit is provided to give automatic operation through a complete cycle upon pushing the start button, selective operation to bring the main plate below dock level when required, and the possibility of stopping operation and elevating the lip at any time.
