ABSTRACT A device for manipulating a cable around an object which comprises a plurality of rigid means for holding a cable in a predetermined configuration and rigid means for controlling the holding means. The holding means can be readily engaged with, and disengaged from, the cable. The controlling means enables movement of the cable into its desired position around the object and disengagement of the holding means from the cable. A preferred embodiment of the invention is used for manipulating a loop of cable at the end of a mooring line for a boat around a docking device. 9729b/12
