The present invention relates to a process for producing a single cell edible oil containing DHA, Docosahexaenoic acid, to the oil itself and to uses for the oil. A marine microorganism, such as Crypthecodinium cohnii, is cultivated in fermentors and induced to produce the single cell oil which subsequently is recovered by extraction with solvents.
Procédé de production d'une huile comestible unicellulaire contenant de l'ADH, acide Docosahexaenoïque, l'huile proprement dite et les emplois de cette dernière. On cultive un microorganisme marin tel que le Crypthecodinium cohnii, dans des fermenteurs et on lui fait produire l'huile unicellulaire que l'on récupère ensuite par extraction à l'aide de solvants.
