Abstract of the Disclosure A mechanism particularly suited for use in a doll, for trans- lating motion in a first direction to an output motion in a direction normal to said first direction. The mechanism comprises an elongate generally bar- shaped member, a second generally bar-shaped member slidably coupled to the first member, and a deformable pressure plate means having one end thereof hingedly coupled to the first member and the other end thereof hingedly coupled to the second member. The pressure plate means is normally biased away from the surface of the first member and operable by a force thereon toward the surface whereby to move the second member relative to the first member.
