Techniques for performing handover in order to maintain call continuity for a user equipment (UE) are described. The UE may communicate with a first cell in a radio access network (RAN) for a packet-switched (PS) call, e.g., for Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) via High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) in W-CDMA. The UE may send measurement reports to the RAN and may receive trigger from the RAN. The UE may establish a circuit-switched (CS) call with the first cell while the PS call is pending at the first cell. The PS call and the CS call may be for a voice call, and the UE may switch data path for the voice call from the PS call to the CS call and then terminate the PS call. The UE may then perform handover of the CS call from the first cell to a second cell, which may not support VoIP.
La présente invention concerne des techniques pour réaliser un transfert intercellulaire afin de maintenir la continuité d'un appel pour un équipement d'utilisateur (UE). L'équipement d'utilisateur peut communiquer avec une première cellule dans un réseau d'accès radio (RAN) pour un appel à commutation de paquet (PS), par exemple pour un protocole de voix sur Internet (VoIP) via un accès de paquet à grande vitesse (HSPA) en W-CDMA. L'équipement d'utilisateur peut envoyer des rapports de mesure au réseau d'accès radio et peut recevoir le déclenchement du réseau d'accès radio. L'équipement d'utilisateur peut établir un appel à commutation de circuit (CS) avec la première cellule tandis que l'appel PS est en attente au niveau de la première cellule. L'appel PS et l'appel CS peuvent être pour un appel de voix et l'équipement d'utilisateur peut passer la voie de données pour l'appel de voix de l'appel PS à l'appel CS puis mettre fin à l'appel PS. L'équipement d'utilisateur peut ensuite réaliser un transfert intercellulaire de l'appel CS de la première cellule vers une seconde cellule, pouvant ne pas supporter la VoIP.
