ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A preformed door, preferably of metal, with a frame of wood in which a floating hinge connection is provided allowing the door to be adjusted relative to the frame by means of hinge securing floating clamping plate disposed within a channel formed in the hinge stile member of the door. The clamping plate is retained by clips frictionally secured between sidewalls of the hinge stile member to prevent the plate from falling away from the channel, while a pair of stops embossed in the channel wall limit sliding movement of the clamping plate within predefined limits.
