This invention, a door hinge stop, is designed to hold a manual, gravity or mechanically closing door open preventing closure, and to be inserted and removed easily and quickly in both normal and emergency situations. This invention consists of two or more flanges shaped into a single angle, or multiple angles, constructed, shaped, cast or forged of any material which is strong enough to withstand the force applied to it by the specific type end weight and closing mechanism of the door to be restrained. It is intended to be placed in the opening between a door edge and the door frame or supporting member, of an open door to prevent closing. Depending on construction style, adaptation and material used, this device can be designed to accommodate any specific size, weight and specifications.
