-- A DOOR HINGE WITH A FORCE PRODUCING UNIT -- Abstract A door hinge for furniture is made up of a box-like part designed to be let into the door from its back side and which has a spring-powered bolt for acting on a cam face at the end of an L-like support arm which is fixed to the body of a piece of furniture so that one (or two) at position(s) where the cam face has a hollow, the bolt will be responsible for a detent effect to keep the door in a shut position or in shut and opened positions. The L-like supprot arm is fixed to the body of the piece of furniture by way of a base or fixing plate, having a guiding face with keyways for taking up at least one key on the support arm. The key has a wedging face and is responsible for guiding the support arm parallel to itself on changing the height of the arm. The arm is locked on the base plate in po- sition in normal use by a metal screw. For limiting opening motion of the door, the hinge box has a limiting or stop face designed to come up against a face on the support arm.
