A locking mechanism (1) is provided for a door latch mechanism in which a latch spindle is turnable to withdraw a latch bolt of the latch mechanism from a latching position into which it is spring biased. The locking mechanism comprises a lever handle (5) having a fluted passageway (24) for fitting to an adjacent end of the latch spindle. The passageway enables the handle to turn relatively to the latch spindle in opposite directions through a predetermined angle of movement. At one end of this angle of movement, the handle is in a horizontal rest position and is engageable with the latch spindle for turning the spindle in a direction to withdraw the latch bolt from its latching position and, at the opposite end, the handle is in a lifted locking position and is engageable with the spindle to prohibit turning thereof in the opening direction. At the locking position, a locking member (27) slidably mounted in the handle and controlled by a trigger part (30), extending behind the lever part (8) of the handle is engageable in one of a pair of retainer holes (33,34) depending on the handing of the lever handle.
L'invention concerne un mécanisme de verrouillage (1) destiné à un mécanisme de loquetage de porte dans lequel une broche de loquetage peut être tournée afin de rétracter un pêne demi-tour sollicité par un ressort depuis une position de loquetage. Ledit mécanisme de verrouillage comprend une poignée levier (5) à passage cannelé (24) pouvant s'ajuster sur une extrémité adjacente de la broche de loquetage. Ledit passage permet à la poignée de tourner par rapport à la broche de loquetage dans des sens opposés via un angle de déplacement prédéterminé. Au niveau d'une extrémité de cet angle de déplacement, la poignée est en positon horizontale de repos et peut coopérer avec la broche de loquetage afin de la faire tourner dans un sens permettant de rétracter le pêne demi-tour à partir de sa position de loquetage et au niveau de l'extrémité opposée, la poignée est en position de verrouillage soulevée et coopère avec la broche pour empêcher que celle-ci ne tourne dans le sens d'ouverture. Au niveau de la position de verrouillage, un élément de verrouillage (27) monté coulissant dans la poignée et commandé par une partie déclencheur (30) s'étendant derrière la partie levier (8) de la poignée coopère avec une paire de trous de retenue (33,34) en fonction de la manipulation de la poignée levier.
