ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a railway box car having a wall which includes a door opening, a longitudinally extending side sill construction below the door opening having a longitudinally extending sill side wall. A floor is supported on the side sill construction and a threshold plate is supported on and projects outwardly from the side sill construction. A door is supported on the car for sliding movement between open and closed positions relative to the door opening. The improvement of the railway box car includes a door track construction positioned below the door which includes a track support including bracket means having a continuous horizontal web member extending the width of the door opening, and to one side thereof. Means connect an inner side of the web member to the sill side wall, and a door track coextensive with the web member. Means are provided which connect an outer side of the web member to the track, and the track member has an upper inwardly extending door supporting surface. A plurality of gusset members are supported on the sill side wall and are connected to the web member substantially throughout the length thereof.
