The present invention relates to a door unlocking system may be used as an add- on for a door lock; the door lock being mounted in a door comprising a door frame and a door latching bolt. The system allows the door to be unlocked and opened using only one hand. The system also allows for the door to be opened with a key, through a remote signal, and to be unlocked until it is relocked.
