A doorlatch assembly which is convertible longitudinally has a front housing 2 within a cylindrical receptacle 7 connected to a rearward chassis 4 with the rotational cylinder 6 fixed longitudinally, and with a transverse opening in the chassis 4 in which the cylinder 6 can lodge transversely against a resilient washer 16 only in its angular position of rest and disengagement from a first pair 9, 13, of transverse projections on the drag arm 3 in order to locate itself in a second pair 10, 14 of transverse projections, where there is relative displacement between the arm 3 and the chassis 4, and to engage itself at this new position.
