The metering device (5) according to this invention, serves for the addition or the removal of fluids into or from the breast box (1) of a papermaking machine. It includes a chamber (6) for the reception of fluids, with the chamber including a number of metering openings (9, 9') that are connected with the suspension-carrying parts of the breast box via throttling devices (4). Thereby, the fluid can be added or removed locally, in a metered manner, without requiring a confusing and expensive distribution via hoses or other such pipes, which, based or experience, when using a greater number of dosing points, leads to placement and operational problems.
