The disclosed invention is a composition for and a method of treating a HIV infection in a host, such as a human, using a single, once a day, oral dose of .beta.-D-D4FC in an enteric-coated tablet. The enterically coated .beta.-D- D4FC increases the amount of the drug that remains in active form for use in inhibiting the HIV virus in vivo.

L'invention concerne une composition et une méthode de traitement d'une infection au VIH dans un hôte, tel qu'un être humain, au moyen d'une dose orale journalière de ?-D-D4FC renfermée dans un comprimé à enrobage kératinisé. Le ?-D-D4FC à enrobage kératinisé augmente la quantité du médicament restant sous sa forme active, aux fins d'inhibition du virus VIH <i>in vivo</i>.
