There is provided a device for automatically the output of a pump laser diode used as an excitation light source in an erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA). The automatic power controlling device can stabilize an optical signal output via a final output terminal in an optical fiber amplifier by selecting a first feedback control loop using an output photodiode or a second feedback control loop using a photodiode provided in a pump laser diode, and controlling an optical excitationsignal output from the pump laser diode on the basis of the intensity of an output optical signal detected through the selected feedback control loop in an analog or digital double automatic controlling method.
L'invention est un dispositif servant à commander automatiquement la puissance d'une diode laser utilisée comme source d'excitation lumineuse dans un amplificateur à fibres dopés à l'erbium. Le dispositif de commande automatique de puissance de l'invention peut stabiliser le signal lumineux de sortie par l'intermédiaire d'une borne de sortie finale dans un amplificateur à fibres optiques en sélectionnant une première boucle de commande à réaction qui utilise une photodiode de sortie ou une seconde boucle de commande à réaction comportant une photodiode se trouvant dans une diode laser, et en commandant le signal d'excitation lumineuse produit par la diode laser d'après l'intensité du signal lumineux détecté dans la boucle de commande à réaction sélectionnée dans une méthode de double commande automatique analogique ou numérique.
