The teaching aid apparatus provides two balance beams (27, 28), one above the other, on a support post (23). Weight-attachment-stations (36) are provided on the left and right arms of both beams, and the stations are marked on the beams with numerals indicative of distance of the station from the beam fulcrum. The beams are connected by means of pinions (32, 34), which constrain the beams to tip in unison in response to unbalance of one beam. The apparatus aids the demonstration of negative concepts to young children.

Dispositif pédagogique basé sur deux poutres d'équilibre (27, 28) placées l'une au-dessus de l'autre sur un pilier de support (23). Des points (36) servant à fixer des poids sont situés sur les parties droite et gauche de chaque poutre et ces points comportent des chiffres indiquant la distance de ce point depuis le point d'attache de la poutre au pilier. Ces poutres sont accouplées au moyens de pignons (32, 34) qui les contraignent à s'incliner à l'unisson en réaction au déséquilibre de l'une d'entre elles. Ce dispositif contribue à démonter des concepts négatifs à de jeunes enfants.
