An improved window insulating kit of the type including a transparent plastic film and a double-coated pressure-sensitive adhesive tape by which a piece of the plastic film can be mounted and stretched taut across a window casement. Excess plastic film can then be trimmed off by pulling a strong, flexible, low-elongation thread that is incorporated into the tape. The thread can be made of highly oriented polymeric filaments and preferably is from 0.08 to 0.4 mm in diameter so that it can cut cleanly through the plastic film.
L'invention concerne une trousse permettant de réaliser une isolation améliorée des vitres, comprenant un film plastique transparent et une bande adhésive à double face sensible à la pression, et permettant de placer un morceau du film plastique et de le tendre sur un panneau de fenêtre. L'excès de film plastique peut alors être enlevé en tirant un fil résistant, flexible et à faible allongement, qui est incorporé dans la bande. Le fil peut être réalisé avec des filaments en un polymère à structure fortement orientée et il a, de préférence, un diamètre de 0,08 à 0,4 mm, de sorte qu'il peut couper proprement à travers le film plastique.
