P.6158 Stph A b s t r a c t The double disk gate valve has a moving gate (6) which comprises two closure disks (8, 9) and which has two servo pistons (25, 26) arrange diametrically opposite one another. Each servo piston is guided in a cylinder (27, 28) and the cylinder chambers (29, 31; 30, 32) on either side of each piston are interconnected by way of respective restrictor (37, 38). The inner cylinder chambers (29, 30) communicate with the flow chamber of the valve and each of the outer cylinder chambers (32, 32) is connected via a control valve (21, 21') to a pressure sink. Disposed between the two disks (8, 9) is a space (16) which is sealed in respect of the gate (6)and which can be energized by a pressure medium when the gate is in its closed position.
