ABSTRACT A pair of spaced apart opposite glazing sheets, defining an intermediate space therebetween, sealing means for sealing the intermediate space to the atmosphere to create a sealed chamber, and a volatile indicator substance for indicating communication of the sealed chamber with the atmosphere. The indicator substance has a detectable characteristic distinguishing it from gases present in a selected area around the glazed panel, and is present in the sealed chamber in sufficient amount to be detectable in the selected area upon communication of the sealed chamber with the atmosphere. The sealing properties of the sealing means are not adversely affected by the indicator substance. The multi-glazed panel can be used as part of a building security system.
