ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A double ladder has feet which are movable independently and longitudinally in hollow profile uprights and have longi- tudinal slots through which a fastening device extending through facing walls of the uprights projects. The inner walls of the uprights are pressed against the external walls of the feet by means of a simple operable fastening mechanism. An absolutely safe securement is guaranteed by friction contact.
