An improvement in a balloon catheter (10) comprising a catheter (12) and an inflatable catheter balloon (14) carried by the catheter (12), wherein the catheter balloon (14) includes at least an inner portion (16) and an outer portion (18) over the inner portion (16). The outer portion (18) includes or is formed of a silicone, and the inner portion (16) is less porous to an inflation medium than is the outer portion (18). The balloon catheter (10) can be configured as a condom catheter (20) for urinary collection, or as a Foley catheter (22) for a variety of conventional purposes. The inner and outer portions (16 and 18) of the balloon (14) can each be discrete balloons, or one of the portions (16 or 18) can be a discrete balloon with the other portion (18 or 16) applied to it.
La présente invention concerne une amélioration apportée à un cathéter à ballonnet (10) comprenant un cathéter proprement dit (12) et un ballonnet gonflable (14) maintenu par le cathéter (12). Le ballonnet (14) comprend au moins une partie interne (16) et une partie externe (18) par dessus la partie interne (16). La partie externe (18) est constituée en tout ou en partie d'un silicone (18). La partie interne est moins poreuse à l'agent de gonflage que la partie externe (18).
