Highly active double metal cyanide complex catalysts useful for epoxide polymerization are prepared by reacting zinc chloride or other metal salt with potassium hexacyanocobaltate or other metal cyanide salt in the presence of a Group IIA compound such as calcium chloride.

Cette invention se rapporte à des catalyseurs à complexe cyanure et métal double, hautement actifs, utiles pour la polymérisation des époxydes. On prépare ces catalyseurs en faisant réagir du chlorure de zinc ou tout autre sel de métal avec de l'hexacyanocobaltate de potassium ou tout autre sel de cyanure de métal en présence d'un composé du groupe IIA, tel que du chlorure de calcium.
