A trigger (20) for opening a valve (50) against fluid pressure has two alternate pivot pins (122, 124). The first pivot point (124) has a relatively higher mechanical advantage to make it easier to push the valve against the fluid pressure. The second pivot point (122) has a relatively lower mechanical adavantage to increase the distance travelled by the valve in response to further movement of the trigger to make it easier to control the flow of the fluid pass the valve. The trigger thereby reduces the force required to open the valve without decreasing the range of motion of the valve.

Une gâchette (20) destinée à ouvrir une soupape (50) comprimée par la pression d'un fluide comporte deux pivots (122, 124). Le premier point de pivotement (124) a une force de levier relativement plus élevée pour faciliter la poussée de la soupape contre la pression du fluide. Le deuxième point de pivot (122) a une force de levier relativement plus basse pour accroître la distance parcourue par la soupape par suite du mouvement complémentaire de la gâchette, pour faciliter la commande de l'écoulement du liquide traversant la soupape. Cette gâchette réduit ainsi la force nécessaire pour ouvrir la soupape sans diminuer l'ampleur du déplacement de la soupape.
