A housing (20) for electrical lighting fixtures with improved ballast mounting is disclosed. The ballast (10) is mounted such that it tightly engages two walls (30, 40) of the housing. The housing is a heat sink and heat from the ballast is efficiently transferred to the two walls. The ballast is preferably mounted to one of the two walls. The wall to which the ballast is mounted preferably includes a channel (33) and the ballast preferably includes a bore (12), such that a rod (50) passing through the bore and positioned in the channel mounts the ballast to the wall. A method of mounting a ballast to a housing for electrical lighting fixtures such that the ballast tightly engages two walls of the housing is also disclosed. Such mounting is preferably performed by a single mount.
L'invention concerne un logement (20) destiné à des appareils d'éclairage électrique avec montage amélioré de ballast. Le ballast (10) est monté de façon qu'il engage étroitement deux parois (30, 40) du logement. Le logement est un dissipateur thermique et la chaleur du ballast est transférée avec efficacité aux deux parois. Le ballast est, de préférence, monté sur l'une des deux parois. La paroi sur laquelle est monté le ballast comprend, de préférence, un canal (33) et le ballast comporte, de préférence, un alésage (12), tel qu'une tige (50) passant çà travers l'alésage et positionnée dans le canal permette de monter le ballast sur la paroi. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de montage d'un ballast dans un logement d'appareils d'éclairage électrique de façon que le ballast engage étroitement deux parois du logement. Un tel montage est, de préférence, réalisé en un montage unique.
