An easy-open, spiral wound container (10) for packaging refrigerated dough products includes a spirally wound fibrous core layer (12), forming an unbonded spiral butt joint (18). The container also includes an inner liner layer (14) and an outer label layer (16), each hav- ing a seam (32, 42). The outer label layer (16) is weakened along the butt joint to facilitate opening of the container. An end closure member (20) seals an end of the container.
