DOVETAIL HINGE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A dovetail hinge consisted of a door plate fastened to a door, a jambplate fastened to a doorjamb, a dovetail slide movably fastened to the door plate through a dovetail joint and pivotably connected to the jambplate by a pivot pin, and a spring connected between the dovetail slide and the door plate for returning the door plate back to its original position in closing the door automatically each time the door was opened.
