ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for use on a wireline for injecting a fluid into a well bore includes an elongated, tubular casing defined by a bottom section containing a lead plug and slots in such bottom section for discharging fluid into the well, a central section for mounting on the bottom section to define a fluid chamber and top section closing the upper end of the casing; a frangible disc in the bottom section separating the discharge chamber from the fluid chamber; and a plunger for vertical movement in the casing to break the disc, permitting liquid to escape from the fluid chamber through the discharge chamber and into the well. In one alternative, the plunger normally rests on the disc, and a hammer is slid down the wireline to strike the top end of the plunger causing it to break the disc. In a second alternative, a shear pin holds the plunger above the discs, so that jarring of the casing causes shearing of the pin, whereby the latter falls onto the disc to rupture such disc. In a third embodiment, the plunger normally rests on the disc and a freely slidable weight rests on the plunger, so that jarring of the casing causes the weight to rise and then fall onto the plunger to rupture the disc.
