A method for downhole flow measurement comprises installing a fibre optical distributed temperature sensor (DTS) system along at least part of the length of an inflow region of the well and using the sensor to measure fluctuations of the temperature of fluids flowing from the formation into the well and the velocity at which said natural fluctuations migrate in downstream direction through the well. The measured temperature variations may be low frequency temperature fluctuations of between 0.1 and 0.5 Degrees Celsius, which gradually die out downstream of the inflow region(s) of the well.
Cette invention porte sur un procédé de mesure d'écoulement de fond consistant à disposer un système de capteur de température réparti (DTS) à fibres optiques sur au moins une partie de la longueur d'une zone d'arrivée du puits et à utiliser le capteur pour mesurer les fluctuations de la température de fluides d'écoulant de la formation vers le puits ainsi que la vélocité à laquelle ces fluctuations naturelles varient en direction descendante dans le puits. Les variations de température mesurée peuvent être des fluctuations de température basse fréquence comprises entre 0,1 et 0,5 ·C, qui disparaissent progressivement en aval de la ou des régions d'admission du puits.
