DOWNHOLE MOTOR HAVING A FLEXIBLE CONNECTING ROD Abstract of the Disclosure A flexible connecting rod assembly (20) is disclosed in which a pair of upsets (22, 27) are secured or otherwise attached onto the ends of a flexible rod (21). Various constructions are disclosed for preventing relative rotation between the members. For example, the rod (21) is secured by shrink fitting into an upset (22). A filament wound composite rod (71) is secured by a polygonal end (72) in a polygonal cavity. There is a core (74) in the end of the filament wound composite rod (71).
