Abstract of the Invention A downhole hydraulically operated oilwell pump (Figures 2 and 3) having means for mounting (Figure 1) and methods for mounting and for operating is disclosed that improve performance and extend useful life by negating sand effects and gas locking tendencies. A remotely and reversibly actuated connector (Figure 5) for use on the lower end of flexible tubing to supply hydraulic power to the engine is also disclosed.
