A connection between a draft sill and a railway wheel truck is disclosed. The draft sill has a bottom and side walls extending up from the bottom. A center pin extends downward from the bottom to an exterior end surface. A boss encircles the center pin. The boss is attached to the outer surface of the center pin and to the bottom surface of the draft sill. The boss includes a plurality of ribs extending radially outward from the center pin. The total surface area of the horizontal surfaces of the boss and the center pin is less than the surface area of a standard center plate. The horizontal surfaces of the boss and center pin do not bear any vertical load under normal conditions, and no center plate is provided. The center pin and boss can be integral, and can be made to extend upward from the truck bolster to be received in an opening in the draft sill.

La présente invention a pour objet un raccordement entre une traverse de traction et un bogie de véhicule ferroviaire. La traverse de traction comporte un fond et des parois latérales s'élevant à partir du fond. Un axe central descend à partir du fond vers une surface d'extrémité, à l'extérieur. L'axe central est entouré d'un bossage relié à la face extérieure de l'axe central et au fond de la traversede traction. Le bossage présente plusieurs nervures se prolongeant à partir de l'axe central, selon un rayon. La surface totale des aires horizontales du bossage et de l'axe central est inférieure à la surface d'une plaque centrale de liaison caisse-bogie standard. En conditions normales, les surfaces horizontales du bossage et de l'axe central ne supportent aucune charge verticale, et l'installation ne comprend pas de plaque centrale. L'axe central et le bossage peuvent être intégrés; ces derniers peuvent être construits de manière à pointer vers le haut à partir de la traverse danseuse, pour arriver dans une ouverture ménagée dans la traverse de traction.
