DRAG SYSTEM FOR SPINNING STYLE FISHING REEL ABSTRACT This invention comprehends a small drag assembly that is conveniently mounted in a drag pocket in the rear part of the housing of the spinning style fishing reel. The drag assembly includes a knob mounted at the rear of the housing, the knob controlling bearing means within the pocket which contacts a disc spring in the drag assembly. The assembly further includes drive means keyed to the rear end of a spool shaft and a series of axle means whereby the shaft is freely rotatable when the knob is set to provide minimal urging force and rotation of the shaft when the knob means is advanced into the pocket to place the disc spring under compression and force the washers and drive means tightly together and against a wall of the pocket.
