ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a fishing reel spool drag plate comprising, a metal disc spring having a center hole, a periphery and a body portion therebetween, the body portion being bent to form two non-planar semi-sections. First and second tabs are integrally secured to the periphery and each project approximately 90 degrees relative to the body portion in a first direction, the second tab being diametrically opposite the first tab. A thin cantilever arm is integral with and extends radially outwardly from the periphery a short distance and follows the periphery of the spring and is projected radially outwardly therefrom. The arm has a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end having a tip bent in a second direction opposite to the first direction, the arm curved outward in the second direction. A coupling connects the proximal end to the periphery.
