An improved drain coupling of the type having a male coupling half (12) including a body (16) having an inner body end (18) and an outer body end (20). A passage (36) axially extends through the body intersecting the body ends (18, 20). A valve (46) is axially reciprocally mounted within the passage (36) between a closed position and an open position for regulating flow of fluid through the passage. The improvement includes, among other things, a valve having a first valve end (46) adjacent to the inner body end (18) and a second valve end (48) adjacent to the outer body end (20). The valve has a central portion (50) positioned at a center of the valve adjacent to the second valve end.

Ce modèle perfectionné de raccord à purge comporte un demi-raccord mâle (12) fait d'un corps (16) définissant une extrémité de corps intérieur (18) et une extrémité de corps extérieur (20). Un passage (36) traversant axialement le corps fait une intersection avec les extrémités des corps (18, 20). Une soupape (46) montée axialement est capable d'un débattement à l'intérieur du passage (36) entre une position fermée et une position ouverte de façon à réguler l'écoulement de fluide par le passage. Le perfectionnement porte notamment sur la soupape, une première extrémité de la soupape (46) étant adjacente de l'extrémité du corps intérieur (18), la deuxième extrémité de la soupape (48) adjacente de l'extrémité du corps extérieur (20). La soupape définit une zone centrale (50) située au centre de la soupape, adjacente de la deuxième extrémité de la soupape (48).
