An automatic opening and closing valve, capable of taking a fully open position, a partly open position, and a fully closed position, is provided for a draught beer dispensing system wherein the beer is dispensed through the valve to a receptacle under the pressure of carbon dioxide gases supplied from a source thereof. Liquid beer can be dispensed when the valve is fully opened and beer foam can be dispensed when the valve is partly opened.
